The NSW Government is helping to cut energy bills for eligible households with access to affordable solar and energy efficient upgrades.
The $128 million investment will help bust the bills for up to 30,000 NSW households. By switching to a solar system or upgrading your home including appliances, you can significantly reduce your energy bills now and into the future.
For homeowners - rebate swap for solar
Eligible homeowner-occupiers can access affordable clean energy with free solar systems. A free 3 kilowatt solar system can be installed on your home by swapping your Low Income Household Rebate. This can unlock long term savings on household electricity bills by up to $600 a year.

For Land and Housing Corporation tenants - rebate swap for solar
Eligible tenants living in a suitable Land and Housing Corporation (LAHC) property, will soon be able to swap their Low Income Household Rebate for a fully installed solar system, whilst they remain a tenant in the property.

For households - rebate swap for upgrades
Households not eligible for these solar offers, can get a free, no-obligation energy assessment. This means eligible renters, apartment dwellers and social housing tenants can identify cost effective ways to reduce their energy bills. The assessment will determine potential savings from energy efficient appliances or minor home upgrades to save on energy bills. If suitable, participants can swap an energy rebate for one or more of the recommended upgrades, valued up to $4,000.
